Fortnite: player decisions affect the stage

Fortnite Chapter 2 player decisions modify some of the minions' lairs. The conflict between SOMBRA and SPECTRUM intensifies.

After the arrival of the patch 12.10 of Season 2 of the Pass Battle , many players Fortnite Chapter 2 have realized that there has been an interesting change on stage, and has to do with the fact unlock skins of SHADE and SPECTRUM . We tell you everything you should know about it below:

Fortnite Chapter 2: The Grotto is now a lair of SHADOW

As you may already know by now, one of the main new features of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2 Battle Pass was the inclusion of several minions' lairs . AI-controlled enemies appear in these map-named locations.

One of these lairs, The Grotto , located in the H5 quadrant of the map, was "neutral" at the beginning of the season . That is, the enemies that lived in it did not belong to either SOMBRA or SPECTRUM , two of the factions that are facing each other in the story of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2.

However, as players have been unlocking the additional SOMBRA or SPECTRUM styles for the Brutus skin , the choice has apparently influenced the scenario itself, since at the time of writing this news, La Grotto "belongs" to the SOMBRA faction . This means that the enemies here are now wearing outfits from this organization, including Brutus , the head of this lair.

When checking social networks like Twitter or Reddit, it seems that there has been a consensus among Fortnite players when it comes to unlocking the SOMBRA style of the Brutus skin (we could unlock one or the other, being mutually exclusive), which we understand has caused this area of ​​the map has been assigned to a specific faction. This change was not only aesthetic, as each of the factions 

specializes in a type of weaponry . SPECTRUM opts for stealth , so we find silenced weapons in their lairs such as silenced sniper rifles, silenced submachine guns, or silenced pistols. Instead, SOMBRA is committed to direct confrontation, and in their lairs we will find high-powered weapons such as heavy sniper rifles or miniguns.

Furthermore, reinforcing the fact that SOMBRA now controls La Gruta, a sculpted skull has appeared on the rock walls of one of the adjoining cliffs, which is very similar to the organization's logo.

In short: Players' global choices when choosing between unlocking a color variant of the Battle Pass skins also appear to alter the scenario itself, causing one of the two factions (SHADOW or SPECTRUM) to appropriate the area where the specific character is a boss.
